Debate Club
Even though we are not meeting in person, we still have our debate club. We will be having virtual debate tournaments throughout the school year with other schools in our league (Los Angeles Metropolitan Debate League). We participate in policy debate, so we have the same topic all year. The 2020/2021 topic is:
The United States Federal Government should enact substantial criminal justice reform in the United States in one or more of the following: forensic science, policing, sentencing.
This topic is timely and one many are interested in. For new debaters, all the evidence is provided for you while you are learning how to debate. As debaters move up to JV and Varsity, they are able to complete their own research and develop their own arguments.
