The Council of Mexican American Administrators Award Scholarships to two of Fremont’s Faithful on Thursday, May 17, 2018. Congratulations Evelyn Avila and Vanessa Gaspar. Evelyn attended 66th St. Elementary, Bethune Middle, and Fremont High School and will attend UCLA, majoring in Biology to become a general surgeon. She thanks Ms. Gossard, Counselor, “because of all her hard work” and her mother and father “for striving to give me a better education and understanding when I have been under a lot of pressure and stress.” Vanessa attended South Park Elementary, Drew Middle, and Fremont High School and will attend CSU, LA to become a Registered Nurse and plans to give back to her community. She is thankful for her parents who work “in order for me to have a better future.”

Their neighborhood was in poor health. These amazing teens changed that.
