Meaningful Walkout

Memoir I have been reading some of the prior posts regarding walkouts done during school hours. It seems that many (if not most) students at the high-school age do not understand or care that by walking out one is actually trying to symbolize that you are protesting in unity for a cause. It is NOT supposed to be fun or an excuse to get out of class. I walked out in opposition of Proposition 187 along with most of Fremont in '94, but I can guarantee that 99% of those went out without knowing why.
