Fremont MESA & Southwest College Partner: Heath Occupation Path for Students

The School of Medical Science and Agriculture (MESA) at John C. Fremont High School is in partnership with Los Angeles Southwest College and is currently offering dual enrollment Health Occupation courses at Fremont to a cohort of 36 students. The students will learn basic medical terminology, pathophysiology, and pharmacology and cultural and legal topics for health care professionals. 23 of the students are also enrolled in fundamentals for the health care professional. Luis Montoya and Frank Davies recognize Jessica St. Paul, Professor Dawn Bernard, Ricky Hodge, Lawrence Bradford, and Dr. Nezy Pullukalayil from LASC and Limtin Thao, Fremont Counselor, for their support and efforts in providing opportunities for students to follow a path to a career in health occupation.

Pathfinders Score: Advanced Placement Exam 115 Qualified Scores or Higher

Fremont's Finest earn 115 "qualified" scores or higher on Advanced Placement Exams. "Qualified' means that you have proven yourself capable of doing the work of an introductory-level course in a particular subject at college. Many colleges and universities grant credit and placement for scores of 3, 4 or 5." Click here to link to The College Board Advanced Placement Program and view your score(s).

Council of Mexican American Administrators Award Scholarships to Evelyn Avila and Vanessa Gaspar

The Council of Mexican American Administrators Award Scholarships to two of Fremont’s Faithful on Thursday, May 17, 2018. Congratulations Evelyn Avila and Vanessa Gaspar. Evelyn attended 66th St. Elementary, Bethune Middle, and Fremont High School and will attend UCLA, majoring in Biology to become a general surgeon. She thanks Ms. Gossard, Counselor, “because of all her hard work” and her mother and father “for striving to give me a better education and understanding when I have been under a lot of pressure and stress.” Vanessa attended South Park Elementary, Drew Middle, and Fremont High School and will attend CSU, LA to become a Registered Nurse and plans to give back to her community. She is thankful for her parents who work “in order for me to have a better future.”

Richard Procello “Great Milers in Fremont History” Visits Fremont, $1,000 Scholarship

Class of '58 Alum Richard Procello and his daughter Alicia visit Fremont. Mr. Procello spoke about his experience at Fremont and running track. He was a top performer in the one-mile run (4:34.0) in '58. Procello generously awarded a $1,000 scholarship to Fremont. His book, Running for Success: An Anthology of Fremont High School Track History 1950s-1980s is available for reference at the Fremont Library.

Bill Overton Speaks to Fremont's Finest

Bill Overton presented to Fremont students on February 18, 2018. His book is titled The Media Shaping the Image of a People. His presentation was about how historically the media has shaped the image of people of color. He donated books to Fremont.
