Healthy Start Program

The Healthy Start program offers our students a myriad of support services. These services include health insurance enrollment, medical care via referrals to the Fremont Wellness Center, which ensures that students are seen in a timely manner and that they receive the proper needed medical services and follow-up care. The Healthy Start program also provides clothing, emergency food, links to outside community agencies—especially in the area of illegal evictions—emergency housing resources and support services, and legal representation for our new students who are going through the process of immigration. The Healthy Start program works with a community agency that provides a support group for the students off campus. The program also supports our students with school supplies, backpacks, vision screenings and free glasses, referrals for oral care, and resources for our students who are young parents, The program makes sure to continue and strengthen the network and collaboration with community agencies in order to provide holistic services for students, their parents and their families.
