okay let me go ahead and share my screen on how nearpod really works with students and how our students are becoming more engaged and Foster said don't like to talk they can see each others experiences and answer questions so I'm going to go inside unless I made for this presentation so you start aren't you A lawyer's D nearpod you use your single sign-on to login okay there are two options as Li participation and the student paste the student pastry if you want the students you can post it on schoology if you want them to pay for themselves and their own last time so my dear Paula lessons I just use live participation because the students in and everything so we always give the students a code to enter this is a code until I go drop join nearpod.com into the chat with a code you can also go to this link and copy the link if you would like and I would do what I do with the students I go back into my chat and I post the link and then I asked him to join the lesson so you're more than free to go ahead join the lesson if you'd like if for some reason you have a hardtop you go into George nearpod dot-com type in X & S BBQ how old is Tulsa to the students they can log in either way and I important because we need to make it as easy as possible for our students to log on yeah I think you lost me right there how do we log in okay so what you do I post a link on the chat for the students you can click on the link or for your students you can put join nearpod.com for the teachers when you do a less than you go to Aaliyah's. nearpod and you start the lesson with your single sign-on so that it takes you to your first page and the coat is always up here you can see my cursor it's always up here so the students login late and if you can't post it a chat you just tell the steering join nearpod.com and put in a student code so the way I do it is I always like to share video with the students at first and this is a quick 3-minute presentation the first way is Creed a lesson in nearpod the second way is to create a lesson in Google Slides you can also select your format in the upper right hand corner by selecting the new pad when creating lesson with the nearpod you can begin by telling your lesson next you can add engaging and interactive punch activities by clicking on the ad side button are content tab is meant to engage and teach students tennis Chad is meant to assess our students you can also enhance pre-existing content by uploading your own pre-made PowerPoints MPS you can do so by selecting any PowerPoint PDF for PNG from your computer Drive Google Drive Dropbox and then drive one step ahead now I can nearpod Eyes by PowerPoint nearpod izing simply me but you're adding engaging interactive features and activities to enhance your pre-made lesson Windermere Popeyes in your pre-existing PowerPoint make sure to click save and exit here's my PowerPoint does now dance with all of its nearpod engaging interactive features and content remember you can also create a new lesson in your pod within Google Slides all you have to do is simply select lesson in Google Slides and it will walk you through step-by-step how to create an airpod lesson with in Google Slides if you have any further questions please I'm going to tell you the different aspects and features at nearpod has so you go back to your home page so let's say we want create a new lesson for students so you go to create you click on lessons and here's where you have your slides you tie to your slide whatever you wants I do it math if you're teaching math and then you have like she said you have two different areas content and activities so if you want to share video in their party click this one they have many different videos in their Library Japan what you're teaching your teaching English math the grade your teaching you can go and find a video if they have for you so. Try to take some work down a little if you find some good videos I mostly like to find my own videos on lessons and I have not really used their videos but they are very good so you need to click on one video so it would load it so then you first save and then you have your video right here and now you want out a new slide for the students so let's say you want to do an activity K1 the best activities I guess the students engage is a collaborative or intercloud bunch of boards you put call this engagement you purchase scription question and you can pick different background that they have to mix it up or you can use the same background spell engagement and then you have your slide and when you go open your slide students were see these little notes and then they are able to sign in and post their comments and you have two options here you can you can give students the option that you see who's posting or you can see who's posting not not supposed to be the other thing you can do is use the other two option you can did the students post before you submit it so it asks you if you would like to read the students post before submitting a question which is a good thing to do because if you read the students are going to be a cloud what's on the might say some wrong things you could always see the post I like to see their names who post because I do get a participation points for posting and for me it's kind of an extra credit activity for the students another good thing is you can make quizzes right here nearpod for the students so you answer your question like if you're watching a video and you want to make sure the students are paying attention and to your question here add you answers in the students will go ahead and pick the answer they like one other thing that I think is very good it's actually for teaching why did economics or chichi you can always do polls you know ask them what they thought and have a poll to add to your lesson you go back to slides you can take them on a virtual field trip like you want to show them different things you can take a fine different pictures Aaron take them on air view of different parts of the country or the world so this is kind of a cool thing maybe if you're starting your lesson and you just you don't want the students to relax everything I know trying to help some field collaborating with them if you're teaching Maps what a good great things is they have these calculators so you just download one of them and then you can ask us to do to grab their answers what's going on and when you open it you plan your lesson and then you saw the students in the class how to graph an exercise is so it's kind of demonstration and how you make that grass is it go to nearpod 3D and you can type in your own ones or you can use ideas that they have so they also have the you can record audio through his record audio you can get a PDF Google Drive your computer your Cloud your OneDrive cloud and then you can upload it you can also upload PowerPoint from your drive that you have and they also have videos from many different countries depending what you're teaching this would be for science Health a technology and all these are approved by nearpod you have to get the permission to use them and they go ahead and look at the lessons Wonder activities you can also have student draw activities for you so you can use a background and then they can draw and their answers purity of add timer so let's say you want your students to take 2 minutes to do this project you just click on add a timer click on the activity that say they would take one minute to do this act are you go to add no there's no sign and you signed into your gender the General Session that's how you getting credit and then you go back to your library then it asks you to name your lesson so let's just say we called this TD what grade is it for other subject we say called test prep and so it's saved so you know where your lessons are okay and it keeps all of your lessons for brief. Of time don't finish your lessons in one day you can always go back and still do automatic Lee be enrolled and they have lessons for English Learners they have lessons for social emotional learning these are like shared lessons and everything does anybody have questions before we move on to the lesson again how would you grade after the students participate. finished you just go ahead and check individual and then put your own grade in the schoology I have like a document a lesson in school that's no asking them you know to we rephrase with a Lauren and to write down like three important facts on the participation points I just write it down on our way out to 5 call him worksheet I just lie down and they participated so there is a lesson.
